DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING

 

NuVo Technologies, a multi-room audio company, is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering responsible for leading all product design and development, testing, release and support to manufacturing, and lifecycle sustaining engineering support; including all electrical, mechanical, software, firmware and user interface aspects. She/he will have overall management and technical ownership for team project execution and goal attainment; especially, but not limited to, reliability of design, development process, budgeting, internal and external resource management, documentation, change control and risk assessment.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading software and hardware design, development and deployment to the consumer electronics market, with particular focus on audio/video systems.

Job Title: Director of Engineering
Location: Hebron, KY (Cincinnati metro)
Status: Full time
Travel: China (Hangzhou NuVo) 3-4 times annually, various USA (supplies, seminars, trade shows)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for NuVo Engineering USA and NuVo Engineering China
  • Manage out-sourced design resources
  • Help define the overall system architecture, design and development for web connected AV appliances
  • Ensure that the product meets the goals of quality, features, cost, and schedule

Skills and Experience

  • Experience leading software and hardware development teams including embedded applications
  • Proven ability to hire and mentor software, firmware and hardware engineers
  • Familiarity and experience with C/C++ programming language
  • Familiarity and experience with Internet Protocol, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AV streaming technologies
  • ARM experience a plus
  • Familiarity with Audio-Video standards and practices
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in and Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
  • Ten years experience in Engineering Management and Product Development
  • Background in manufacturing processes and quality control
